Australian Gold Reagents Pty Ltd (AGR) is the management company of the joint venture between CSBP Limited (75 per cent) and Coogee Chemicals Pty Ltd (25 per cent) to manufacture sodium cyanide. CSBP is the company's operating and sales agent.
We supply sodium cyanide, which is used in the extraction of gold from ore, to gold mining operations in Australia, South East Asia, Africa, the Americas and the Middle East.

1985 - Australian Gold Reagents Pty Ltd (AGR) incorporated – having identified an opportunity to supply sodium cyanide (NaCN) locally to the growing gold mining industry in WA.
Sodium cyanide solution plant plans developed and approved. Distribution plans (transport and delivery) for sodium cyanide solution approved.
1988 - AGR sodium cyanide solution plant commissioned with 15,000 tonne 100% sodium cyanide capacity and product is distributed (via rail and road in ISO tanks) to WA mining regions.
AGR sponsors the AMIRA Gold Processing Technology projects (gold mining industry-focused research).
1989 - Sodium cyanide plant named Society of Chemical Industry of Victoria’s “Plant of the Year”, in recognition of its design, innovation, efficiency, safety and transport facilities.
1990 - AGR and Shedden Pacific Pty Ltd win Institute of Engineers (Australia) WA Award for Distinction in Engineering Achievement – Manufacturing Facility Category.
1995 - Plant production capacity increased to 32,000 tonnes per annum to meet demand.
1999 - Duplicate sodium cyanide solution plant commissioned, increasing total production capacity to 47,000 tonnes per annum.
AGR's solid sodium cyanide facility (to convert solution sodium cyanide to solid for sale to export markets) plans are developed and approved. Distribution (transport and delivery to Fremantle Port) and handling plans for solid sodium cyanide approved.
2002 - Solid sodium cyanide production facility commissioned with 20,000 metric tonne capacity.
Product is packaged in 1,000 kg Bulk bags and shipped in 20 foot sea containers (meeting international regulations).
2003 - Debottlenecking of our second sodium cyanide solution plant increased total production capacity to 58,000 tonnes per annum.
2005 - AGR is one of the fourteen initial signatories to the International Cyanide Management Institute (ICMI) www.cyanidecode.org
2010 - Further debottlenecking of our sodium cyanide solution plants increased total production capacity to 64,000 tonnes per annum.
2014 - Capacity increased to 78,000 tonnes of sodium cyanide solution and 45,000 tonnes of solid sodium cyanide as a result of production being expanded at all plants over the years.
Today - Having supplied to over 25 countries (including Australia), AGR continues to contribute to the success of its customers with a focus on people, safety, the environment and reputation.
AGR continues 28-year sponsorship and support of the AMIRA Gold Processing Technology project.
