1985 – Australian Gold Reagents Pty Ltd (AGR) is incorporated after an opportunity was identified to supply Sodium Cyanide (NaCN) locally to the growing gold mining industry in WA. Plans for Solution Sodium Cyanide plants are developed and approved, along with distribution plans which include transport and delivery.

1988 – Our first Solution Sodium Cyanide plant is commissioned with a capacity of 15,000 tonnes per annum. Product is distributed via rail and road in isotainers to WA mining regions.

1989 – Our first Solution Sodium Cyanide Plant is named the Society of Chemical Industry of Victoria’s “Plant of the Year”, in recognition of its design, innovation, efficiency, safety and transport facilities.

1990 – AGR and Shedden Pacific Pty Ltd win Institute of Engineers (Australia) WA Award for Distinction in Engineering Achievement – Manufacturing Facility category.

1995 – Plant production increased to 32,000 tonnes per annum to meet demand.

1999 Second Solution Sodium Cyanide plant comes on-line, increasing total production capacity to 47,000 tonnes per annum.

2002 – Solid Sodium Cyanide production starts. The new facility has a capacity of 20,000 tonnes per annum. Product is packaged in 1 tonne bulk bags and shipped in 20ft sea containers which meet international regulations.

2003 – Debottlenecking of our second Solution Sodium Cyanide plant results in increased production to 58,000 tonnes per annum.

2005 – AGR is one of 14 initial signatories to the International Cyanide Management Institute (ICMI).

2010 – Efficiencies from debottlenecking of our Solution Sodium Cyanide plants resulted in production capacity increasing to 64,000 tonnes per annum.

2018 – AGR celebrates 30 years of operation.

2014 – Capacity increased to 78,000 tonnes including 45,000 tonnes of Solid Sodium Cyanide per annum through production expansion.

2019 – Efficiency gains in production and export improves output at the Kwinana dual plant and reactor.

2015 – AGR celebrates a decade as a founding signatory of the International Cyanide Management Institute (ICMI).

2020 – Production increased to over 90,000 tonnes per annum, putting AGR into the top five producers of Sodium Cyanide globally.
